Summer of Truth
It’s not unpatriotic to think. The events of September 11th, 2001 remain completely disgusting. Sparks of curiosity and questions of how this could have happened were quickly washed away with waves of emotion, fear and worry. We were told how it happened. We were told who did it. We even saw how it happened. But did you see everything?
“The Twin Towers … are not even capable of ‘pancake collapse’ … unless every supporting column were removed at the same time….” Charles N. Pagelow. Five of the nineteen hijackers have phoned in from Europe and contacted embassies and the BBC protesting their guilt and their alleged suicides. Source.
You can’t see the forest through the trees no matter how zen you are. In such large events as 9/11, hindsight is rarely 20/20 however. But a moment can happen where you learn something new that changes what you thought had happened. “Hmm, that’s odd,” is all it takes to keep you closer to the truth than before. This article lays no blame. Most 9/11 conspiracy theorists aren’t yet laying specific blames; they’re just theorizing. What happened that day can be never less disturbing than it was then. But a few little pictures and stories from around the World made us say, hmm, that’s odd. Maybe you’ll think the same.
The Common Story.
A plane crashed into a tower of the Trade Center in New York. Television on. A replay? Then why is that building already smoking? A second plane clips a corner of the second Tower. Oh my God, we’re under attack. A reporter in the Pentagon is on the phone. We hear a bang in the background. It was construction. No, it was another plane, but he’s okay. Planes everywhere are landing. My Uncle is stuck in France much to his delight. Telephones aren’t getting through. Another plane still up; four planes, five planes? Something in Pennsylvania and still a fifth plane? No report cancels the idea of a fifth plane, they just stop talking about it. Where did the blood from my face go? It left when the first Tower collapsed. “It’s like a movie…”
More collapses, verifications, experts on TV and three days go by without commercial interruption. These are the guys who did it, they say. There’s nineteen of them and most are from Miami, Del Rey Beach and Hollywood, Florida. Still no airplanes in the sky. Many people in Miami and Hollywood are still worried for loved ones up north. Sparks of curiosity and questions of how this could have happened were quickly washed away by waves of emotion, fear and worry. The images play over and over but we never saw it; we were stunned.
Six days later, independent.co.uk reports that a suicide hijacker is alive and well in Jeddah – After having the television on for two weeks straight in 2001, I hear about it now, five years later. Six days after that, four more hijackers have reported to the BBC that they are alive and well – again, could I have missed this too five years ago? The next day, September 24th, 2001, AllAfrica.com titles a story for a found hijacker suspect, ‘Dead Saudi Hijack Suspect Resurfaces, Denies Involvement.’
Via Computers: AllAfrica.com would love you to subscribe to see its archives. In fishing for a link to give you, we found that the story republishes the BBC story to which we’ve already linked. BUT, in the event you want access to an old story: Archive.org will accept almost any URL you type in. With AllAfrica.com, 681 cached pages appeared for the year 2001 with four entries for September 27th. Clicking a date should show you what’s left of the cached page. Many things like advertisements and pictures will be missing, but HTML text should remain. What shows up is nothing. An all white Web Page. But look at the end of the address, it ends in robots.txt which is HTML instructions not for human, but crawler consumption. The link is fooling you to keep the archive private. Use your mouse and address-bar to backspace that “/robots.txt” extension out of there. Only THEN will you get the page you’re after. Here. This works on other subscription news sites like NYTimes.com where their archives are otherwise protected. Just thought you’d like to know!
What We Were Told.
The FBI.gov site still shows the immediate press release dated September 27th, 2001 including the names of the six hijackers who came forward days earlier and agreed to be interviewed. Why the pictures weren’t changed or omitted is interesting.
Usama Bin Laden (UBL) typos forever more to Osama Bin Laden. Florida’s governor Jeb Bush declares a State of Emergency faster than New York or D.C. x Top level White House staff are issued Cipro x. Dozens of republicans are shuttled off to secret locations x x2. Experts on mainstream television account for the collapse of the towers and Building 7: It was heat, it was jet fuel, it was felled floors and support columns. Palistinians’s celebrations are video taped and shown in conjunction with the news x. The stress leads to satire. “The Falling Man” photograph appears once before proper outcry forces the news organizations to censor themselves; WTC suicides are no longer shown.
A week after the towers fell, ‘Anthrax letters’ wash the media machine clean of collapsing tower footage. Cipro becomes the hot sell since it strengthens the body against the attack of Anthrax.
Further Thinking.
Florida is a steady magnet for trouble. Jeb Bush issues State of Emergencies frequently and is the brother of the President. Cipro resolves more troubles than just Anthrax; it is, in their words, “an antibiotic against a broad-range of bacteria.” x The eventuality of bacterial attacks is an everyday concern for political leaders. Shadow Governments are not uncommon; in school, we learn that there is a hierarchy of leadership in time of crisis – claims by Democrats that they knew nothing of it seem to be protocol responses as even third graders know that hierarchy happens. The Palestinians were filmed on September 10th after a funeral to bury those killed by Israelis; their behavior has nothing to do with our 9/11. Showing the footage was an odd and criticized choice.
Of all the things we saw and all the opinions we read, the most curious, the most unanswerable is what seems to be the appearance of what demolition experts call, ‘squibs.’ As the towers fell, a shroud of dust and billows of debris fell around the tower as fast as the towers themselves fell. What revisiting pictures and footage shows is automobile-sized powder clouds ejecting ahead of the collapse. The most prominent clouds appear at the level where the ‘Machine Floor’ was.
Only one photo from FOX5 (not shown here) shows another ejected jet of dust/debris even lower but seemingly traveling at the same speed as the higher clouds. Their shared traits are that they shoot out the sides perpendicular to the face of the building and they break through only one window. If it had been dust forced down shafts and exiting ASAP through the nearest and easiest path, this would make a similar ‘squib-like’ dust jet at a lower level impossible. The force would still need time to travel to that lower level. The appearance of debris jets and the reports of explosions in rapid succession does make the collapse of the Twin Towers seem like a demolition more so than any other theory or essay.
