Space. Originally invented in 1905, it was known that it should be big, really big. After a few states were brought into the United States, it was decided that a few planets should be brought in too! And why not? It seemed that there was room for Space to grow. Considering Space to be the Final Frontier might be a good thing since it seems there’s more to find everyday!

The danger of Web 2.0’s collapse first became clear to me with an unpublished article entitled My Dear John To Web 2.0 In it are examinations of the mentality that has returned Mystery Meat Navigation to the forefront of site design. The height of this absurdity is Microsoft’s desire to be the first Operating System that the next one
BILLION computer users see. In a move that is completely at odds with this welcoming ease-of-use is Windows Vista’s utter lack of a “Start” button. Only if you already have familiarity with the product do you know that the Windows Logo is actually the old Start button.

IMHO, a path for certain disaster was clearly laid out. Don’t allow data portability, maintain a closed, mono-culture and victimize your subscribers with advertisments designed for print media. In short, do what
AOL did.
Today’s report of Facebook making their platform an open source project does surprise me somewhat after all this talk about data portibility.

01APR08 – Happy April Fool’s Day, huh? In case you missed it, the Google team teamed up with Virgin Airline’s Richard Branson to invite web surfers the chance to die on Mars within 20 years. After a short and surprisingly unpleasant 15 multiple choice question test, I was informed:
Well, you’re distressingly normal and could conceivably adjust to life as a deep space pioneer, though we recommend instead that you leave the Mars missions to the serious whack jobs who scored over 130 and instead finish year 3 of law school, tuck your toddler into bed, design Web 2.0 applications, run for Congress or do whatever other normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road thing you’re currently doing with your normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road life. If you’re determined to give Virgle a try, though, you can submit your video here.
That’s a pity because I seriously doubt Congress will have anything to do with me and I was rather looking forward to being somewhere else (other than Earth) at the end of 2012, you know, just in case.
If you’d like to be insulted one way or another based on your “distressing” normalcy or lack thereof, consider trying to apply to become a Virgle Pioneer where you too may fight for the chance to perish aboard hastily tested interplanetary transports. Virgle.

10FEB08 – There’s a little something in all of us we hope. Now imagine being able to prove that in front of millions. I’m not hot for implanting YouTube videos, but someone just showed this to me yesterday and like all forwards, you gotta see this.

26JAN08 – Create your own buttons on your website for iPhone bookmarking, download some of the
PNG graphics that the iPhone uses, join a lounge of other users or just see what clever people have done with their iPhones. As we looked in vain for a site that contained graphics we were searching for to do with the iPhone that we saw two weeks ago, we stumbled upon countless other cottage-sites surrounding iPhone goodies. Feed your curiosity and surf safe and happy to this little collection that covers a lot!

locate the second RAM bay –
adding 1GB stick, now laptop won’t start – 28NOV07 – And finally, the
RAM for the dv6000 HP Pavilion laptop arrives. Memory Ten invoices it as
ABQ 1GB 200p PC2700 CL2.5 16c The price is a rather unforgiving $79.98 plus tax and $9.00 (!) shipping. Ouch. After all the stories and visits, I was terrified that I would join you all in another story of black screens, no boots, no nothing. I’m happy to extend a hand to you and say, DO
THIS! Below is the 256 stick that I replaced with the new 1GB stick just thirty minutes ago.

09NOV07 – We HP Pavlion ZV6000 owners are a loyal and thrifty bunch. Personally, I got mine in a RadioShack bundle including a killer camera that took the picture below and a mostly unmemorable printer. When examining
RAM upgrades, I was startled to
NOT find a second stick and so made an article about it to help others once I found it. The article is here. Now there’s a newer, meaner problem that’s beating us thrifty laptop users over the heads.

Did you watch TV last night?
NBC, SciFi Channel, Today and Telemundo channel logos all went Green because, Green is Universal. Baffling at first – even the opening credits of Heroes with the eclipse went totally green during the flash of the Sun’s corona. One quick search revealed a very strong and proper campaign to bring environmental awareness to more people through their favorite channels and a website,
Green is Universal.
