Flickr free photo-sharing website is uncommonly polite. FLICKR – It’s a free resource for digital camera owners to use to share and organize their photos and promote their portfolios far beyond the reach of friends if they choose. Flickr began by mistake when Ludicorp employees, charged with designing a video game as the company’s debut project, developed a rudimentary system for sharing images and photos with co-workers.

Recession 2008: Is It Over Yet?

This is the definition of a recession. In January 2008, CNN and other suspected a recession was upon us. TechStocks, the Home Market and New Home Construction fell while commodities and gas prices rose – perhaps the tail wagged the dog, perhaps not. We knew the good times couldn’t last. After consulting the Information Ninja Oracle, a.k.a. The Apple iPhone’s Stock button, current trends no longer indicate a recession. Hasn’t anyone noticed?

The 2008 recession might have never happened!

Finance is a risky thing when the DJI is flirting with 12,000 points – but it seems that when it refuses to go below 12K, happy times can still come in small amounts. Last month, we experimented with a one-month trial Fantasy Portfolio that drew some views. We didn’t make a killing. In a BEAR market, who needs to? You just don’t want to lose your shirt and have to climb a tall building like King Kong just to jump off and Widow the wife who challenged you in the first place. Anyhow….

Stocks That Hold Their Average Value.

Information Ninja. Some stock owners like to keep their stock at a certain value. Despite some ups and downs, there are a few symbols that seems to average out in value no matter what. At the beginning of 2008, I was told about the people who own Goldman Sachs, or GS. It seems that regardless of nationwide good or bad news, stock holders just love the $200 value – it’s a stock that holds its average value over time. Our task here is to accumulate a collection of other stocks that also held their values over time even if they moved up and down. A 20% to 30% volatility would be almost expected or preferred. Google Finance BETA is a great way to explore some other ticker symbols.

The following four stocks were selected 10JAN08 and we just failed to post them right away. We’re assuming that a hundred of each are purchased and, as of 10JAN08, the value of this portfolio was actually $9,696.00. These stock were picked with the intention of being held for six months and, yeah, we’re hoping to make a Fantasy Profit no matter how small.

14JAN08 – Love it. This isn’t really news, but as an Information Ninja, you have to read it for what it is. “Google Sees Surge in iPhone Traffic,” is the title of a nytimes.com article. We’re playing the Stock Market, we need to think of what the masses are going to think when they see this. What we should really think is, “guess the NYTimes had nothing better to write.”

Memory: Types of Dynamic RAM.

Memory has been growing in ability and shrinking in form even though it doesn’t look that way. SIMM’s and DIMM’s are the chips that sit on a stick of RAM. Sticks of RAM store information as 1’s and 0’s down a row or column just like parking spaces. The pins are the gold connectors that touch the motherboard; that’s the opening of the parking space where multiple instructions or memories are stored. When you see Row Access or Column Access, you’re told, on average, how many clock cycles of the CPU are needed to move information out of the way to get to the information at the back or the column or row. Smaller numbers are faster. More pins, more ‘parking spaces.’ The tough part is the silly names that mess up newer users. … Read more to see the big picture that clears things up and makes you smarter!
