Where Can I Find A Teleprompter?

21JAN08 – It’s closer than you think! An online service currently allows you to enter 2,000 words in to a text box and begin a teleprompter service that’s not too shabby. Believe me, I’ve tried syncing two laptops to scroll through OpenOffice Write with the locked scroll wheel and it was a nightmare. CuePrompter takes that need of finding a teleprompter quickly and spits out a teleprompter-like scroll with adjustable speeds and even mirror imaging if you want to be fancy about it.

They’re still asking for suggestions. After stabbing the Space Bar to get the teleprompter started with no luck, I made the following suggestions for HotKeys:

[space] play/pause
(right arrow) faster
(left arrow) slower
(up arrow) reverse (it scrolls UP for that backwards Lennon effect)
(down arrow) fwd.

[pg up] Page up!

BOLD the current speed, aim for 5,000 words
[ctrl]+[D] for switching display mode perhaps?
Don’t i-beam functions at the top, show a pointer/mouse-over icon.

Lovely!

Let’s see if the advice/suggestions are taken and, as I promised hannumultanen@yahoo.co.uk I will indeed use this handy teleprompter service later today at the risk of them stealing 2,000 characters of text. Cheers!
