2012

08OCT07 – Just as Columbus is said to have discovered the New World, we may well actually, finally be the members of the Human Race to discover what the Hopi Indians call The Fifth (of Nine) World. We may also be the first members of our species to witness the natural occurrence of Earth’s magnetic poles switching or flipping. What this could mean is that the prophets might have actually been on to something about the year they all independently agree on as the End of Days or the dawn of the Fifth World: 2012. As a fellow geek, it might not kill you to know more about where this ALL comes from.

2012 may well be it.

Prophets aren’t new, they’ve been around for thousands of years. Edgar Cayce (1877 – 1945) is one modern day prophet who correctly predicted for individuals and organizations and History in general. Twentieth century skeptics were less likely to credit his abilities with God. When asked, Cayce mentioned that he fought his way through nightmares in a dream-like state to reach The Akashic Records where humans exist in all three tenses and most. When asked about if this meant that destiny was written in stone, he would reply that the future isn’t set in stone, it’s simply a reflection of massive current trends, but certainly changeable. Good news, because Earth has got an empirical pattern for us to consider.

Edgar Cayce began a foundation called, The Association for Research and Enlightenment that examines holistic treatments, ancient mysteries and The Akashic Records 1, 2, 3.

JUMPING TO EMPIRICAL FACT

To be brief, Earth is filled with magnetic gooey stuff that pops out of volcanoes when the pressure gets too high. The magma (underground) or lava (above ground) flows like giant seas and rivers beneath us. On the mid-oceanic ridges that ooze out continents, magnetic stripes around ridges reveal the history of Earth’s magnetic field for millions of years (pictured). It looks as though every 300,000 years, Earth’s poles flipped except recently. It’s been 780,000 years and we’re overdue.

Earth's magnetic poles flipping will affect volcanoes and earth quakes.

The mass of Earth that’s wet and that we can walk on is nothing next to the mass that’s beneath us. When that mass jerks out of place to realign with a different magnetic field, it will likely cause global eruptions like humans have never seen. You can see in the above charts the significant increase in World Earthquake Activity and Volcanism as magnetic north pole is now wandering out of ‘place’ at a rate of 40km a year.

Before determining that an exit strategy is going to be tough, let’s look quickly at the long-past predictions that take us to 2012. Edgar Cayce, as wonderfully helpful as he was, refused to read into this twenty-first century saying that we just wouldn’t like it. After endless prodding, Cayce mortified his audience with the following:

…perhaps the world’s most documented psychic, predicted that the earth would shift on its axis in the year 2000 or 2001. Some believe this will occur on May 5, 2000 when the sun, moon and five of the planets fall into alignment with the earth, an occurrence that doomsayers claim may trigger large-scale catastrophe in our world. Conversely, Cayce also foresaw the emergence of a new world order at this time that would see man realizing the need for interdependence and coming together for the good of all. Source.

The Mayans with that crazy calendar that’s got the tongue sticking out of the middle were uncanny in their accuracy – despite the oddly measured 260-day long years, there were 59 Ritual years combining to equal 42 Tropical years of 365.242 days each. Look familiar? Astoundingly, they were trying to mesh Venus years, Lunar years and Earth years and did so with some very advanced mathematics. Source.

The ancient Mayan prophecies also foretell the coming of an era of knowledge and wisdom, placing it in the year 2012, the date on which the Mayan calendar comes to an end. But again, while there are those who believe that the end of this calendar signals the end of time, other interpreters tell us that the Mayan’s carefully kept astronomical records indicate that man should now be entering what the Mayans referred to as the fifth age-a time of global enlightenment.

Mayans were wild about very long periods of time. One sunspot researcher, convinced that solar activity affected life on Earth more so than we knew, studied to find patterns in the Sun’s rotations and sun spots. He re-affirmed the 11-year cycle of the sun with his calculations. However, he also found graphic evidence for longer cycles including a period of 1,366,040 days. His work took a new turn when he read about the Mayan super number from the Dresden Codex: 1,366,560 days. This was exactly two 260 day cycles larger than his theoretical sunspot period. It looks as though the Mayan love with lengthy time periods was for a reason other than to show-off their mathematical abilities.
